Dallas wins sixth straight game against Portland
The Dallas Mavericks ended the Portland Trail Blazers' three-game winning streak with a 125-112 victory on Friday, December 8, 2023. The Mavericks have now won six straight games against the Trail Blazers and improved their record to 14-14 this season.
Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 33 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. Spencer Dinwiddie added 24 points, while Josh Green chipped in with 20 points off the bench. Damian Lillard led the Trail Blazers with 26 points, while Anfernee Simons added 22 points and Jerami Grant had 17 points.
The Mavericks jumped out to a 32-22 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. They led by as many as 21 points in the second quarter and took a 62-47 lead into halftime. The Trail Blazers cut the lead to 10 points in the third quarter, but the Mavericks responded with a 10-0 run to push their lead back up to 20 points.
The Trail Blazers never got closer than 12 points in the fourth quarter as the Mavericks cruised to the victory. The Mavericks shot 50.6% from the field and 38.5% from three-point range, while the Trail Blazers shot 40.8% from the field and 27.3% from three-point range.
The Mavericks will next play the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, December 10, while the Trail Blazers will next play the Houston Rockets on Monday, December 11.
